My second attempt at an eye close-up
I tried harder this time for more accuracy and detail than the first, and it therefore took longer.

They say portrait drawing is millimeter work, well when you're working on something as blown up as this, it really is mm. work. As soon as something is not perfectly round, it will show.

I get to a stage in just about every drawing when I've just had enough and need to finish it . This point came today, after I'd worked on it 5 hours and 40 min. this week. (I timed it precisely this time )

I'm changing my way of drawing slowly. I used to wanna put every down straight away, just so it would look like something even to me. Now, I know it's better to e.g. put the shading of the eye-lid down completely, and do the blending before I put down the lashes. Seems like an obvious thing, but impatience can cause bad habits.

All in all, a good study , I would recommend it to all portrait artists!!
